You can reuse the Content Tracker for new projects without rebuilding the file. This preserves your configuration, dropdown lists, and snapshot template settings while clearing old content.

When to Use Reset for New Project #

Use this option when:

  • You finished a project and want a clean file
  • You need a blank starting point for a new team
  • You’re preparing a fresh version to distribute
  • You want to keep Config settings across projects

What Reset for New Project Removes #

The reset clears project-specific data while keeping the system structure intact. It removes:

  • All rows in Content_Log
  • All entries in the Revisions sheet
  • Old dashboard ranges
  • System values tied to previous versions

What Reset for New Project Keeps #

The reset does not change:

  • Config settings
  • Snapshot folder and template IDs
  • Dropdown lists and list sources
  • Admin tools and permissions
  • System scripts, validation, and protections

How to Reset the Tracker #

  1. Open the menu
  2. Go to Content Tools → Admin → Reset for New Project
  3. Confirm the reset
    The sheet clears all content and is ready for new data.

Best Practices #

  • Make a copy before resetting if you want to keep historical records
  • Save or export previous snapshot reports for long-term storage
  • Update dropdown lists only if the next project uses different categories
